Review: Research Proposals

I felt that most of the presenters knew what they were supposed to do. Almost all of them had statistics and facts related to their topic. Some of the topics were not as researchable as required, but the effort was seen.

I noticed that most of the students hadn't used the MLA format for the citations.

I think that I had used all the fixtures and facts required for my argument. The only thing I feel was missing in my presentation was the MLA citation. I could do a better research on my focal points and use more facts and incidents to put my argument in a good position.

College is a waste of time.

Paragraph #3- This paragraph has the thesis statement of the article. The writer says that college is a waste of time as it fails to empower us with the skills necessary to become productive members of today's economy. Paragraph #4 and #6- These paragraphs give all the explanation and examples. The writer says that college is expensive. According to the College board policy center, the tuition is about 3.6 times higher than it was 30 years ago. The writer also writes about the student loan debt. Paragraph #8 and 9- These paragraphs consist of the refutation to opposing statements. He says that a major function of college is to signal to potential employers. He also says that some people want a formal education. This is how he opposes his point of view. Paragraph #10- This is the conclusion of the article. He concludes by saying that, the people who take education outside and beyond the classroom understand how actions build a better world.

Topic- India

My topic is India. Research question - Why is India still a third world country? Claim- India is not yet as developed as many countries in the world because of its illiteracy levels, population, corruption, lack of unity, high levels of pollution and dirty politics in every sector. Why this topic? I love India. But after I moved to the States, I always had this question in mind, why can't India be one of these developed countries? India is visibly growing after industrialization hit India. But something is still missing. So I thought of choosing this topic to get to know about the problems and letting others know that India is no less than any other country, it's just that there are too many barriers in the system itself that are stopping it from growing. Russia Probe

SARAH SANDERS In this video, all the questions were answered with facts and a reason. So, LOGOS was strongly used in this argument. For example, when the speaker was asked about the uranium deal, she used many facts to justify her answer. TOMI LAHREN In this video, the speaker argues in a very aggressive way. So, the ETHOS of the speaker was aggressive and informative. She was very informative and factual reasoning took place, so LOGOS was there in the argument too. MARK MAZETTI In this video, Mark clearly uses pathos in his argument. He strongly states that the Russia probe is due to George. He uses examples and facts to prove his statement. MATT APUZZO In this argument, Matt uses pathos while talking about the leaked emails.
